George Johnston and Assistants with 1928 Chevrolet
George Johnston bought his new 1928 Chevrolet from Taylor and Drury in 1929. After shipping it to Teslin on the Taylor & Drury boat "Thistle" he built a three mile road and charged $2 per ride. This road was later incorporated into the Alaska Highway. George Johnston and two assistants are shown with the car, painted white for winter hunting. ca. 1930s.
