C.C. "Red" Turner, chief of the tractor crews on the Norman Road, February 19, 1943. To help solve the problem of transporting supplies to Camp Canol, a winter trail called the Norman Road was built from Peace River, Alberta to Norman Wells. Tons of equipment were taken by tractor trains over this road during the winter of 1943-1944.
