When a 420 pound tire went limp on the road, it was left on the highway’s shoulders until picked up by a hoist. These tires were photographed in Dawson Creek or Swift River, where Orval Couch was posted as a mechanic during the construction of the Alaska Highway. ca. 1943-1945.
