Old Jake Jackson making snowshoe frames in his workshop in Teslin. The earliest form of transportation in winter in the Yukon was walking on snowshoes with or without a team of dogs pulling a loaded sled. The driver often had to walk ahead of the sled to break trail for the dogs. 1941.
